Jack Black CANCELS Tour After Tenacious D Member Wishes DEATH On Donald Trump!

We have seen more than a few celebrities and online personalities have rather unhinged responses to the events that transpired this weekend. Donald Trump, the Republican nominee for the US Presidency, had an attempt on his life that left one man dead and put two others in the ICU. Luckily for the former president, he managed to escape with just an injury to his ear, as the sniper's bullet narrowly missed his head by mere centimeters.

While many people disingenuously offered their prayers and support to the former president, others were much more blatantly ghoulish in their reactions. We have seen current and former staff of the games media site Kotaku go out of their way to mock and ridicule the attempt on Trump's life. David Jaffe, creator of the God of War franchise, claimed that the incident looked "staged," as was echoed by other large accounts on Twitter/X.

Then there were those like political commentator and Twitch streamer Destiny, who has outright stated that he feels no sympathy or sadness for anyone who attends a Trump rally and gets injured or killed. He has doubled down on this terrible take, going so far as to say that if his own parents attended an event where Trump was speaking, he would not mourn their passing if they too were killed.

Now we have seen the band Tenacious D, whose front man Jack Black recently went to a campaign event for President Joe Biden, openly call for another assassination attempt on the former president. During a concert in Australia, band member Kyle Gass blew out the candles on a birthday cake after making the wish, "Don't miss Trump next time."

The backlash to this disgusting statement has been swift, with a politician in Australia calling for the band to be deported from the country immediately.

We have also now heard from Jack Black directly, who made the announcement in an Instagram post that the band would be ending the tour immediately, due to the comments of his bandmate.

While some people have viewed this as an adequate response by Jack Black, many more are calling for Disney to sever ties with the one-time Mandalorian actor, including Gina Carano, who was famously terminated from her role on The Mandalorian for an innocuous tweet calling for people to join together in peace and to cease using dehumanizing language.

Kyle Glass has now come out and offered his own apology, stating that it was a "dangerous and terrible mistake."

No matter what his own feelings may be towards Donald Trump or his supporters, it is fairly obvious that Jack Black knew that his bandmate had opened a can of worms with his idiotic statement. Unfortunately for the massively popular actor and singer, it's likely too late to repair the damage. This single moment of unhinged stupidity from his longtime friend and bandmate could very well have caused the end of his long and illustrious career.
